On 29 June 2017 the Administrative Council of the European Patent Office has amended Rules 27 and 28 of the Implementing Regulations to the European Patent Convention on the patentability of biotechnology inventions, excluding plants and animals exclusively obtained by an essentially biological process.The amended rules enter in force on 1 July 2017 and are available on the link:
