Law & Business publishes a comment made by Elisabetta Berti Arnoaldi Veli on the controversial issue of AI and IP: “It is to mankind that the exclusive rights and the possibility of prosecuting any infringement belong. There is an explicit rule in the English Copyright, Design and Patent Act of 1988: it provides that when there is a masterpiece created by a machine, such as a database, the property of the copyright belongs to the subject that has somehow organised the functions of the machine”.
