Yesterday, AGCOM (Italian Communications Regulatory Authority) issued a press release announcing the approval of the Guidelines and Code of Conduct for influencers.
The soft law rules for relevant influencers (those with 500,000 followers or an average monthly audience of at least one million views) are now final. These influencers will officially be classified as ‘professionals’ and a list of them will be drawn up and published on the Authority’s website.
The aim of the operation, which is the result of a technical round table and public consultation, is to ensure transparency in communication, in the interest of the public and fair competition.
