Our firm has obtained from the Italian Patent and Trademark Office two important decisions to protect the Italian brand of excellence Fedeli, known worldwide for the style of its garments, created with precious cashmere yarns, strictly made in Italy.
The two decisions are based on the appreciation of the particular value of patronymic trademarks, whose intrinsic distinctiveness is recognised. The Italian Patent and Trademark Office, accepting our arguments, confirmed that, since patronymic names have no evocative capacity of the characteristics and qualities of the marked goods and are unrelated to them, the marks that include them are consequently to be considered as having a high degree of individualising power, as Marchi Forti.
